Director of Development - The Larimer Chorale
The Larimer Chorale (http://www.fortnet.org/lc/) is seeking an enthusiastic and capable candidate for the position of Director of Development (DD), beginning in the fall 2010. The DD will serve as the leader in annual and long-term fund-raising efforts for the Larimer Chorale (LC), and will seek to expand existing funding sources and identify new donation and sponsorship opportunities. The DD will work closely with the LC Board of Directors and various committees in implementing a recently-adopted strategic plan to ensure the long-term fiscal health of the LC.
Mission Statement: The Larimer Chorale, an auditioned symphonic chorus based in Fort Collins, is committed to presenting choral music at a high artistic standard, with an emphasis on choral-orchestral masterworks, and to enriching and educating singers and audiences throughout northern Colorado through live performances, recordings, workshops, and the creation of new choral works.
Specific duties of the DD include:
1. Work with the LC Board of Directors and other Chorale members to develop and execute a strategic, long-term fund-raising program:
• Identify and acquire individual and corporate sponsorships for upcoming Chorale concerts.
• Oversee annual or semi-annual fund drive donor mailings.
• Develop and implement a strategy to initiate and expand an endowment for the Chorale.
• Identify individualized donation options for Chorale members and community donors.
• Provide expertise and tactical advice to the LC Board of Directors in the areas of potential donor targeting and fund-raising.
2. Assist LC grant writer(s) in identifying granting opportunities and preparing and submitting grant applications.
3. Maintain communication with the LC Board of Directors.
• Serve as an ex officio member of the Board and attend monthly Board meetings.
• Serve as a member of various Board and /or LC committees as appropriate.
Qualifications include:
• Experience and skills in funding-raising for nonprofit organizations
• A strong commitment to the arts, generally, and vocal ensembles, specifically
• Excellent organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills
• Knowledge of computers, basic software, and web-based applications is also desirable
Baseline Compensation for the DD position is $700 per month on an independent contractor basis; bonuses may also be awarded for meeting or exceeding fundraising expectations (i.e. for number of donors or sponsorships obtained; bonuses shall not be percentage-based). A contractual agreement will be developed including start date and compensation, to be renewed on an annual basis as long as agreeable to both parties.

The Windsong Chorus of Sweet Adelines International is seeking a Musical Director

Windsong is known throughout the area for great singing and highly entertaining performances.  This fall we will be presenting our 40th Annual Show and we are looking for a talented, energetic, and experienced musician to help guide us forward. 

 

Barbershop experience would be considered a plus, but may not be required.  Financial compensation would include costumes, expenses, and a small stipend.  Intangible rewards would include fun, friendship, and a chance to be a part of many exciting performances.  A completed application, resume and references are required.

Park Hill United Methodist Church seeks Gospel Choir Director

Park Hill United Methodist Church, 5209 Montview Boulevard, Denver, is seeking to fill the position of Gospel Choir Director, beginning September 1, 2010. This choir’s primary repertoire is in the contemporary/black gospel musical style. The Director must be a spirit-filled, devoted Christian who has strong communication and organizational skills, along with the charisma and desire to grow the choir in both number and skill. The position requires high music-reading skills as well as an ability to teach a song by “rote” when necessary.
The Gospel Choir Director meets weekly with the Director of Music and the 9:15 Worship Leader in order to plan a cohesive contemporary gospel worship service. The Gospel Choir will have a two-hour mid-week rehearsal, and sing every Sunday morning at the 9:15 Contemporary Gospel Worship Service. Sunday mornings begin with rehearsal at 8:00 am.
This position has a start date of September 1, 2010. Salary is negotiable.

Park Hill United Methodist Church seeks Contemporary Gospel Worship Leader

Park Hill United Methodist Church, 5209 Montview Boulevard, Denver, is seeking to fill the position of Contemporary Gospel Worship Leader. This position requires a spirit-filled, vibrant Christian who has a heart for leading spirit-filled, vibrant worship. Exceptional keyboard skills are required as well as an in-depth knowledge and repertoire in contemporary and gospel praise and worship music styles. Strong communication and organizational skills are also required.
The Worship Leader meets weekly with the Director of Music to plan music for the 9:15 Contemporary Gospel Worship Service, and coordinates and practices weekly with the Praise and Worship teams. A long-term goal for the Worship Leader should include the forming of a band, to include percussion, guitar/bass player, and other musicians that will supplement the piano.
The Worship Leader must also be able to accompany the Gospel Choir which will sing weekly at the 9:15 service beginning in the fall of 2010. Music reading skills are a must.
This position has a start date of September 1, 2010. Salary is negotiable.

Sweet Adeline Chorus seeks Musical Director and Creative Director

A new Sweet Adeline chorus (women's barbershop) is looking for a Musical Director and Creative Director possessing the following qualities: outgoing, personable and responsible, with outstanding people skills. Applicants for both positions must be knowledgeable of music and music theory, proficient at delegating, setting schedules, and leading others. Ability to see what needs to be done and follow through is desirable. Barbershop knowledge is a plus.

The Musical Director will work closely with the Creative Director and the chorus administrative team. She/he will be primarily responsible for all musical aspects, including vocal production, leading the music team, and teaching musicality.

The Creative Director will work closely with the Musical Director and chorus administrative team. She/ he will primarily be responsible for helping to choose music, create themes for show and contest packages and help with vision and goals for the chorus.

This chorus is new but made up of experienced, skilled singers, many with barbershop experience. We belong to the Sweet Adeline International organization. We meet in Windsor on Thursday nights from 7 to 9:30 pm. We have the desire to grow, learn, and continue our quest to excel. We participate in regional competition each spring and use that as a marker of our progress. We strive to have strong community involvement and perform throughout the year.

Boulder Chorale seeks Artistic Director

The Boulder Chorale, Boulder, Colorado’s oldest and largest community choral organization, seeks an Artistic Director to begin July 1, 2010.

The Artistic Director provides the creative vision of the Boulder Chorale and is responsible for the leadership and direction of every aspect of the performances by the Chorale. The Artistic Director reports to the Board of Directors while working in collaboration with the Executive Director and the Music Director of the Children’s Chorale. The Artistic Director is the principal conductor of two ensembles for adults: the Concert Chorale (a non-auditioned, mixed chorus open to all) and the Camerata (an auditioned, 80-voice mixed ensemble). The Artistic Director takes an active role with the Board and Executive Director in the areas of strategic planning, audience development, educational outreach and fundraising.

Qualifications:

-A commitment to the value of providing a quality musical experience for all who wish to sing.
-A combination of outstanding musicianship and interpersonal skills.
-Broad knowledge of choral repertoire.
-Excellent teaching skills.
-Experience working with and conducting instrumentalists.
-An advanced degree in music.

St. James Presbyterian Church seeks Contemporary Worship Leader

St. James Presbyterian Church in Littleton, CO is seeking a Contemporary Worship Leader for our 10:45 Sunday morning service.

The CWL will be a committed follower of Jesus Christ and one who is dedicated to leading people beyond a performance and into an authentic and holy worship of the living God.  St. James is seeking a worship leader who can connect with worshippers across generations and musical styles.  We seek an artist who can employ and utilize multiple styles, genres, technologies, and forms of music that aid in worship.  Our finalist will continue to grow and develop along with St. James. 

Therefore, we seek one who:

>    Is committed to living as a growing follower and representative of Jesus Christ with a commitment to the fulfillment of the Great Commission (Matthew 28:18-20) and the Great Commandment (Matthew 22:37, Mark 12:30, Luke 10:27)

Position:
Worship Leader-Director of Music

 Purpose: The ministry of music provides a unique form of inspiration to the congregation of Genesis Presbyterian Church. The Director of Music provides leadership in the planning, coordination, preparation, presentation, and evaluation of all aspects of music ministry with the goal being to provide excellence and variety in sacred music during services of worship and other special church events. The Director of Music’s leadership will be accomplished in cooperation with the Worship Committee of the Session, with the Pastor/Head of Staff, with the Accompanist, with the church staff, and with all music groups in the church. The Director of Music will direct the Adult Choir, the Praise Ensemble Team, the Bell Choir and may also work with the Children’s Choir.

Other Terms of Employment:

  1. The Director of Music is a part-time (15-20 hours per week) position. Approximately 10 of those hours will be at the church with planning, rehearsals and services. A schedule of hours to be worked will be developed with the Pastor/Head of Staff.
  2. The salary and benefits for this position will be specified in the “Contract for Employment”. The salary range is $15,000-$22,000 per year based on experience and the number of hours agreed to.
  3. An annual performance review by the Personnel and Administration Committee will be held during the Fall of each year.
