Position: Worship Leader-Director of Music

 Purpose: The ministry of music provides a unique form of inspiration to the congregation of Genesis Presbyterian Church. The Director of Music provides leadership in the planning, coordination, preparation, presentation, and evaluation of all aspects of music ministry with the goal being to provide excellence and variety in sacred music during services of worship and other special church events. The Director of Music’s leadership will be accomplished in cooperation with the Worship Committee of the Session, with the Pastor/Head of Staff, with the Accompanist, with the church staff, and with all music groups in the church. The Director of Music will direct the Adult Choir, the Praise Ensemble Team, the Bell Choir and may also work with the Children’s Choir.

Other Terms of Employment:

  1. The Director of Music is a part-time (15-20 hours per week) position. Approximately 10 of those hours will be at the church with planning, rehearsals and services. A schedule of hours to be worked will be developed with the Pastor/Head of Staff.
  2. The salary and benefits for this position will be specified in the “Contract for Employment”. The salary range is $15,000-$22,000 per year based on experience and the number of hours agreed to.
  3. An annual performance review by the Personnel and Administration Committee will be held during the Fall of each year.

Mullen High School
, a Catholic, Lasallian, College Prep school, has an opening for a part time vocal music teacher and choral director for the 2008 - 09 school year. Applicants should have at least a Bachelor's degree in Music / Music Education and experience teaching high school music and directing a high school choir. Advanced degree a plus. Ability to play piano (for classes and rehearsals) recommended.
Position opportunities include annual concerts, music competitions, travel performances, and assisting with the annual Theatre Department musical. Rocky Mountain Arts Association
is seeking an Artistic Director for Out Loud: The Colorado Springs Men’s Chorus. This is a part-time position, approximately 20 hours per week (increases during concert and outreach periods).

The Artistic Director of Out Loud: The Colorado Springs Men’s Chorus is responsible for implementing the artistic and musical decisions of the Chorus. The Artistic Director plans and executes all of the music in a given season: rehearsals, performances, recordings, and outreaches. In addition to musical duties, the Artistic Director should maintain a visible image in the community to promote the Chorus in all areas.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

• Administration of Performance-Related Activities

• Administration of the Artistic/Production Staff
• Public Image
• Vision for the Future
• Community Outreach

Reporting and Relationships:
• Reports directly to Chorus Council President
• Works/Communicates with the Executive Director and Board of Directors of Rocky Mountain Arts Association
• Employment agreement is with Rocky Mountain Arts Association

Experience:
Minimum of five-years experience conducting a male or mixed chorus; proven success in planning and executing concerts with a wide range of musical styles; strong motivator of positive goals; organizational skills; reasonable familiarity with artistic/production budget preparation and compliance.

Messiah Community Church ELCA is looking as soon as possible for the following staff:

The staff position is planned as a project for a three-year period. We are looking for qualified and experienced professionals. Theological interest and knowledge is an asset. Salary is negotiable, depending on education/ experience. Cooperation with the pastor is a must.
