Re: Middle Level Choir Festival 2009
From: Abby Kilcoyne and Michele Di Nuova - Middle Level ACDA Co-Chairs
Date: September 1, 2009
The Colorado ACDA would like to invite you to participate in the 12th annual Middle Level Festival on Friday, November 6. We realize that this date is very early, but hopefully it will get your year off to a great start.
The festival is designed to be a positive, non-competitive event giving students an opportunity to perform for a panel of clinicians, work briefly with a clinician and participate in a short sight-reading activity. In scheduling your time, you’ll be given 15 minutes for warm-up, 15 minutes performance time, 15 minutes with a clinician and 15 minutes for sight-reading.
| Festival Date | Festival Location | Coordinators |
| November 6, 2009 | Legend High School | Abby Kilcoyne 303-775-1937 |
| Registration Forms Due: October 5, 2009 |
22219 Hilltop Road Parker, CO 80138 303-387-4500 NOTE! Please DO NOT send application to the above address! |
Michele Di Nuova 303-399-1636 |
In addition to your performance, please also take time to listen to other choirs. It is helpful to have some sort of critique sheet to help student focus on what they are seeing and hearing. If you choose to listen to the other performances, please seat all of your students together and ensure that they observe proper concert etiquette.
You must be a member of ACDA in order to participate. A membership form is enclosed for those of you who are not currently ACDA members. Being an ACDA member gives you access to a wealth of knowledge and experience during our annual summer workshops that have recently hosted great names in the choral business such as Rollo Dilworth, Eph Ehly, Randy Pagel, Jonathan Reed and Sandra Snow. This last summer our clinicians included Janeal Krehbiel, Jo-Michael Scheibe and Brad Holmes. The Common Times and the Colorado REView are ACDA publications that are filled with wonderful jewels of knowledge, insights, and down to earth good ideas from teachers just like you. You can mail your checks for membership plus registration fee to the address below, but please do not send your registration materials to the national ACDA.
We hope you will be able to join us for this exciting and valuable learning experience for students and teachers alike. Applications are due by October 5, 2009. Time preferences will be awarded on a first-come first-served basis. Your registration fee MUST be sent in with your application.
